I'm Baz, an independent Azure Cloud Architect with over 25 years of hands-on IT experience. I founded IT Experts UK Ltd to provide enterprise-grade Azure consultancy without the overhead of a large firm.

My background spans infrastructure, cloud architecture, DevOps and governance, with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure across private, public sector, and housing association environments. I've led cloud transformation programmes, designed CAF-aligned landing zones, built automated pipelines with Terraform and Bicep, and helped organisations move to the cloud with confidence.

The Challenge

Magenta Living, a not-for-profit housing association, needed to move away from a traditional on-premises VMware and SAN-based environment to a modern, cloud-first Azure architecture, whilst building internal capability to manage the platform long-term.

What We Delivered

Led the end-to-end migration, delivering CAF workshops to align stakeholders, deploying Azure Landing Zones and NVAs using Terraform IaC, and standardising networking and security across all sites. Structured knowledge transfer ensured the internal team could independently operate and develop the platform after handover.

The Woodland Trust: Cloud Migration & Modernisation Programme
The Challenge

The Woodland Trust required a large-scale cloud migration and modernisation programme, including new Azure infrastructure, separate UAT and Production environments, and the modernisation of legacy data platforms, all while supporting parallel business transformation initiatives.

What We Delivered

Designed and deployed Azure infrastructure to support migration and modernisation. Modernised data platforms from SQL IaaS to Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL Database. Led the organisation-wide Windows 11 rollout to ~700 endpoints via Microsoft Intune and Autopilot. Migrated the Azure DevOps organisation to a new tenant with improved security and governance.

South Liverpool Homes: Enterprise Landing Zone & AVD
The Challenge

Contracted via Altair Ltd, South Liverpool Homes needed their Azure environment re-architected in alignment with Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework, with a focus on enterprise-scale Landing Zone design and automated infrastructure deployment.

What We Delivered

Delivered a full CAF workshop and gap analysis, then designed and deployed a new Azure Landing Zone using subscription democratisation. Migrated a legacy VPN gateway to a zone-redundant Azure VPN gateway. Implemented Azure DevOps with Terraform CI/CD pipelines, and delivered two separate Azure Virtual Desktop environments: one for internal users and one for a sister housing association.
